ER....oops

So, I got home from work. Well, I live in Oregon and that means if you have kids and get divorced you have to take a class about your kids. So I went to the class. About half way through and had such a random and painful, feeling in my stomach I kinda yelled, "OH". Freaked out the two people talking to me. Then on the way home I started having what felt like very mild contractions. Really, I wasn't that concerned, I am pregnant, but 15 weeks is pretty early for that kind of thing. I went home made sure to use the bathroom, put my daughter to bed and went and laid down in bed. At this time I started to realized, they are pretty consistent and um I didn't think you could literally time braxton hicks and so I started to freak out. I went pee again, and laid down for awhile and calmed myself down. An hour later, I can still time these babies and I am now having remember to breathe. So I did something I really really really really didn't want to do. I went to the ER. Monkey was not even close to sleeping (really kid aren't you tired?). So we scooped her up and ran off. I called the OB on the way and she said to go pee and wait an hour and if they don't go away to go get checked out. I was like I just did that so we are on the way to get checked out.
Three hours later, so tired I have no idea which way is up, my new guy is like conked out in the waiting room and Monkey is running around like...well like a kid full of cookies from the vending machine. We get called in.
I was still have the contractions they were more severe but further apart at this point. We heard the babies heartbeat and it was nice and strong. My cervix is all closed and so the diagnose is braxton hicks.
I feel both stupid and justified in my decision to go to the ER. Oh well. Life goes on.

  2. I am glad it is all okay! I am only 12 weeks and I think at 15 weeks if I was having that kind of pain I would have done the same thing!

  4. Scary!! Don't feel stupid at all-you just never know and some things have to be caught early, so you did what any good momma should do!!

Hope they are gone, or more tolerable, now!

Thanks for your comments!
If my back is bad, I won't be replying. If it isn't too bad I will.
I will stop by your site though eventually, regardless!
